How can I invite my colleagues to comment on my modules?

To improve your training modules, feedback from your peers can be a key resource.
You can ask for their feedback by leaving comments on K.Air.

Preview link or comment invitation?

K.Air offers two ways of sharing a module, and only one of them allows comments.

A preview link is a single URL, ending in /public/preview. Anyone who receives it can watch the module without an account, but no comment panel is displayed.
A comment invitation is sent to each person individually. They receive their own access, and can leave comments on the module.

Send a preview link when you simply want the module to be watched — a demonstration, or a validation handled by email or in another tool. Invite your colleagues, as described below, as soon as you expect their feedback to be collected inside K.Air.

Inviting your colleagues

Invitations are sent by the module owner. If you are not the owner, the sharing menu will not let you invite anyone — ownership needs to be transferred to you first, from the module options.

To invite your colleagues to comment on your module, go to its Settings tab.
Then click on the green Share button in the top right-hand corner.
The sharing menu will then open, giving you the option of sharing your module, pending comments.

You can grant the ‘Comment’ right to your organisation's collaborators, directly in the box reserved for users.

However, you can also invite external collaborators to Kumullus by entering their address in the box labelled Email Addresses.
These users will then appear in your organisation as creators, under the Review licence.
This type of licence is limited to 10 per account.

Types of comments

When your collaborators are authorised to comment on your module, they can write two types of comment which will appear in the Preview tab.

1. General comment

The general comment is used to give an overall view of your module.
It does not correspond to a specific moment in your module.

2. At the current location of the module commentary

The At the current location of the module commentary allows you to return to a specific point in the video.
When the commentary appears, it displays the name of the chapter and the relevant timing when you move your mouse over it.
So if you click on the commentary, the video will start at the precise moment mentioned in the commentary.

If your reviewers cannot comment

No comment panel on their screen? They have most likely received a preview link rather than an invitation. Invite them from the sharing menu, and they will each receive their own access.
No invitation option in the sharing menu? You are not the owner of this module. Its current owner can transfer ownership to you from the module options.

To make it easier to design your modules collaboratively, in addition to comments, you can also define progress statuses for your module.
