# Best practices & tips


# Here are a few best practices to help you create your first modules:

* Don't overload the timeline: we recommend 2 to 3 targets per chapter.

* Allow learners time to click: we recommend that hotspots appear on screen for at least 5 seconds.

* Use automatic opening if necessary, but sparingly

* Position hotspots so as not to obscure the faces of actors or important elements.

* Do not include interactivities that prompt the learner to leave the module (e.g., a URL link) at the start of a chapter, as this may result in the module not being completed.

* Use the target score to boost the educational aspect of the module
