How to create a "Quiz" hotspot?

In the chapter editing of your module, choose the Quiz activity from the INTERACTIVE HOTSPOTS section.

1. Choose the question type (MCQ / SCQ)

In the left panel, start by selecting the type of question. Two options are available:

  • Multiple choice: the learner can select several answers (MCQ).
  • Single choice: the learner can select only one answer (SCQ).

Note: As the creator, you'll see the interface adjust depending on the selected option. You’ll see:
Squares ⏹️ for quizzes with multiple answers.
A circle ⭕ for quizzes with a single answer.

2. Add your question

Then type your question in the text field just below.

You can customize how your question looks using the following options:

  • Style: Bold, Italic, Underlined
  • Font: Custom or from the built-in list
  • Text size: 7 sizes available, from Mini to Maxi

Note that to ensure optimal readability across all devices—computers, tablets, and mobile—there is a 225-character limit for questions.

3. Add answer choices

You can set up up to 10 possible answers per question.

This wide range allows for more diverse responses and better alignment with your learning content.

Learners can scroll up or down to view all answer options.

You can also adjust the appearance of your answer choices by selecting the font and text size at the top of the interface.

To save you time and ensure visual consistency, these settings will automatically apply to all quiz answers.

You can choose from 7 different text sizes: from Mini to Maxi.

For each answer, you’ll also be able to customize:

  • Style: Bold, Italic, Underlined
  • Alignment: Left, center, right

Note that to ensure optimal readability across all devices—computers, tablets, and mobile—there is a 128-character limit for answer choices.

4. Add images for the question and answers

The Quiz activity allows you to add visuals to enrich the learner experience:

  • One main illustration image in square format (500px × 500px recommended), displayed prominently on the left, below the question.
  • Images for each answer choice, also in square format, displayed more subtly next to the answer text.

5. Learner side: selecting answers and viewing corrections

For learners, how they select or deselect answers will depend on the question type:

  • For multiple choice questions: click once to select an option, and click again to deselect it.
  • For single choice questions: clicking another option will automatically replace the previous selection.

Once the learner validates their answer, the corrections are shown:

  • The correct answers appear in green.
  • The wrong answers selected by the learner appear in red.
  • The answers selected by the learner are outlined in black.

Tip: You can shuffle your quiz answers! Check out this article to learn how.
