How to display the subtitles you have added?

Once you've added subtitles to your chapters (either by uploading a .SRT file of subtitles, or by using automatic subtitling), you're wondering how to display them?

Go to your module's "preferences" tab, in the "default subtitles" section. As you can see, by default subtitles are "off".

If you click on "off", you'll see a drop-down menu offering you around forty languages for your subtitles.

In our example, we'll choose "French". By default, subtitles will be displayed in French when your learners open the module.

On the learner side, here's what happens if you leave the "default subtitles" "off": if your learner wants to display subtitles, he has to click on the settings gear in the player controls, then on "subtitles", then choose the subtitle language he wants (in this example, we only have French, but there could be several languages if you've translated your subtitles).

If you've set the "default subtitles" to "French", for example, and your learner wants to deactivate the subtitles or choose another language from among the subtitles you've created, he'll have to click on the settings gear in the player controls, then on "subtitles", then click on "deactivate" or choose the subtitle language he wants (in this example, we don't have any other languages).
